Alright...I think I've hit a point where I just need to rage. As people know on skype, I look around DA and look at OCs (mostly Zelda related) and find some characters that just irritate me to no end. No joke. People who read this....please, for the love of all that is holy, take your character through a limitus test.
-There are too many bios of characters and they want to make me cry. I've come across characters that fit into the timeline, but mess it up because they take control of Link's job. Please make a history that makes sense. They're not going to be fighting for their lives before ganon takes over because well, ya know, hyrule is pretty damn peaceful place and people are too nice. Also, your character is not going to be a royal guard at the age of 15 or something like that.

-I usually don't rant about artwork because people still are learning. But please try to be somewhat creative with clothing. Many OCs have a color scheme and outfits similar to characters in the game. And the majority of these people copy links outfit and call it a day. Also, do not use doll bases and think that'll pass for a character bio pic.
Here are a list of things to do to prevent that.
1. Go to commercial pattern sites and get some ideas from the costume section (If you want links to these sites, let me know and I will send them to you)
2. I have a book here, which is lame btw, and its an encyclopedia of clothing. Its made by the How to Draw manga peeps, but its an awesome reference for stuff like that.
3. Just try coming up with some things one your own to see what happens.

-Finally, before I go too far, think about your characters background. Hylians are not going to have Katanas...nor are they going to have japanese names and be ninjas. The only people that are going to be ninja like are Sheikah. I've seen hybrids (some disturbing ones at that), people directly related to Link/Zelda/people in the game, TOO MANY TWILI, People that can turn into dragons, and just idiots in general. You must think as to where your character is!
